Hi everyone!
I just receieved all my items from AG, including Addy. She is so beautiful and I love her! I think she is pre-mattel though! But I'm not expert....Can you help me?

She has the arttist's mark behind her right ear and the Pleasant Company logo on the back of her neck in the bigger writing. She also has some numbers on the back of her neck. Her behind is also a good size (plump) lol.

Is there any other things that distinguishes the pre-mattel dolls? Just tell me what you think Thanks very much!

Eyelashes, and vinyl. Check her eyelashes. Are the hard, or smooth?

Also the vinyl..is it soft or smooth?

The smooth choices are usually the pre-mattel dolls.

Ok, my Mattel Addy has large letters in the back of her neck. And numbers 6H9.

My AGT #25 Gabriella has large letters, and artist's mark and numbers. So unless Gabby has a pm head with a very new wig, I don't think the markings are good indicators.

PreMattel Addys look different in the face. You can easily tell the difference between a newer Addy and the PreMattel ones. The faces on the older Addys is thinner and not as "cheeky" as the newer dolls. The so called "artist's mark" means nothing and shows up on new dolls as well as old and not all older dolls have this mark. My Addy is PreMattel and she has none of these marks. If you look carefully on ebay at the older dolls versus the newer Addys on the website, you will be able to see the difference in the face.

Also, most of the pm Addys have soft lighter brown eyelashes versus the Mattel dark brown/black hard eyelashes.

I was told they are still using the older molds for the newer Mattel Addys. So even though she isn't PM, she looks like many of the PM ones. Artist's mark and all. I thought the exact same thing when I saw my Addy. Besides the eyelashes, she had all of the "PM" characteristics!
